Austin A 35 1963

This lovely Austin A35 Van has come to us from one of long term elderly clients up on the North Yorkshire Moors. 226 JOX was first registered on the 5th June 1963 and for much of its early life will have been a working van. From its condition it would appear this is an older restoration, perhaps 1990’s and the Van presents very well throughout with nicely aged paintwork and trim.
Our customer bought the Van in 2021 and on purchase had the Van delivered to a Hampshire based classic car restorer. The Austin was then re-commissioned and fettled with work to include removing both doors and re-fitting with new hinges, replacement of all coolant hoses and clips, new engine breather hose, new distributor cap and leads, new spark plugs, new thermostat and gasket, new fan belt, new air-filter, new front flexible brake hoses, complete new exhaust system, new dust boots and steering joints, new choke cable, new heater ducting, a new rear window seal, and all fresh oils, fluids and lubrication.
Since the work in 2021 the A35 has had various runs out and has been part of an impressive collection of pre-war and immediate post-war commercials and cars. On the road the Austin is great fun, it has a strong engine and gearbox and it drives well. Whether for commercial use or shows and rallies, this is a lovely Austin Van that can be used and driven on a regular basis.
