Jaguar XK 120 OTS 1952

120 mph (193 km/h) was a heck of a top speed in 1949. That's also why the Jaguar XK120 immediately snagged the record for fastest production car ever when it rolled off the assembly line in Coventry.
The XK120 was presented at the London Motor Show in 1948, and both design and technology was extremely well met to say the least, which was the reason why Jaguar rushed to get the product out to customers. The first 242 cars were hand-built aluminium cars, and when mass production entered the early 50s, Jaguar fortunately kept the doors, bonnet and rear decklid in the light material.
This XK120 is an OTS (Open Two Seater), which means that the roof can be folded down behind the seats.
The 3.4 engine was as impressive as the outside appearance, and boasted, among other things, of double overhead camshaft, aluminium top, and double SU carburettors. 160 horsepower was available on tap, making the beautiful roadster anything but a tame house cat.
