What a fantastic find on an amazing car and condition. We're big fans of the W124 Mercedes here. The best driving W124 of them all is arguably the 320E with the 3,2 Liter M104 engine mated to the 5-speed Automatic gearbox. This very car was built on May of 1993 and well-optioned: 1220 Pearl Grey Metallic with Black leather. The 5-speed Automatic Gearbox, Automatic Slip Differential, Electic sliding roof, heated seats, 70 liter tank, cruise control, headrests in the rear, leather 390mm steering wheel, catalytic converter and more.
This very car was ordered/built for Mercedes personnel and therefore invoiced to Mitarbeiter Fahrzeuge - Mercedes-Benz Leasing GmbH. Driven by Mr. Braun from Kernen, Germany. First registered on the 25th of November 1993 and driven on numberplate WN-NE 284. The delivery check was done at Mercedes Werk Sindelfingen on the 26th of November 1993. The first service was done in 1993 by Mercedes-Benz Felix Kloz GmbH in Fellbach and later on serviced by Mercedes Niederlassung Hans Becker GmbH in Dinslaken. In 2009 the car was imported into the Netherlands by a W124 fan. The car was stored inside but never driven. Luckily the car was started and driven a couple of meters every now and then. No problems from non-useage - The car starts, runs, brakes and feels as it should. We performed a service with new fluids and filters and installed 4 new Dunlop tyres, like the car had in 1993.
The body is perfect. Beautiful paint, mostly factory original, perfectly straight. The trim/strips around the roof/windows is still back - this car was always kept inside! This example shows no rust, The jack points, rear axle mounts, floors, etc are all solid in this solid on this 320E. The interior consists of black leather that remains in nice, supple original and as-new condition. The dash shows no cracks and the wood on the center console is excellent. A true time capsule.
The engine-bay of the car is very original. Factory details and tags and the silky smooth 3,2L M104 engine. The engine recently saw an oil-service. It starts up beautiful and runs very smooth and silent. The 5-speed Automatic gearbox shifts excellent and is a big step forward from the earlier 4-speed variants. The way this 57.000 kilometer example sits on the road, corners, feels and drives is amazing. It says a lot about 90's Mercedes-Benz engineering. A piece of automotive history that really speaks.
The undercarriage of the car is truly amazing. Absolutely rust-free and not welded nor repaired. All factory coatings, emblems and decals. The original toolset is still in it's factory plastic. The paint is 80% original, 20% has been repainted once. Fresh service with fluids, filters, sparkplugs and tyres.
