Where to start with this gift J.R.M. or should we say, Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, which served as the basis of this fantastic Dutch 'one-off'
The basis of this J.R.M. (Jan Rudolf Mulder) was delivered new in 1958 in Hannover, came to the Netherlands in 1962 and was registered in 1965 on a Dutch license plate.
Mr Sakkers (a doctor by profession) started this project and, due to missionary work in South Africa, awarded it the J.R.M. sold in 1963 through the weekly magazine Autovisie, since Mr Sakkers had not registered the car, it was driven very little and the car was in 'new condition'
Ultimately, the car was sold in 1964 to a car company in Hoogeveen where the Porsche engine was completely overhauled and ultimately used for promotional activities. Ultimately the car was registered in 1965 with license plate 99-67-AH.
Over time, the car changed hands several times, after which the car was sold in 2003 to the last owner who still owns the car. The car is currently equipped with a Volkswagen 1600 CC engine, which moves the car perfectly.
In 1990 the J.R.M. completely Nut and Bold restored, and completely rebuilt. The engine and technology are also being completely tackled.
The history of this car is, in short, very special. The entire owner's history is present and also shows that the car has always remained in the Netherlands.
