1952 Daimler DB18 Special Sports Cabriolet by Barker. Chassis Number: D59218 Registration Number: NNN273 A rare car in very good running order. This car had a major restoration some years ago in Scotland which was documented photographically. Since then it has been used sparingly & drives beautifully. It is of course equipped with a Wilson Pre-Select gear box which makes driving it a pleasure, the required gear being selected in advance of corners & simply enged by pressing & releasing the clutch. The car is finished in high quality dark blue paintwork with a pale blue accent stripe. The hood is grey and in excellent condition easily foldking down for open motoring. To the interior is new medium blue leather along with blue carpets. The boot is also blue carpet lined & is large along with a huge luggage area behind the front seats. These are of the bench type allowing for three people to sit abreast on shorter journeys. A sideways facing rear seat is also sometimes installed in these cars. Mechanically the car is very sound with the lusty 2.5 litre 6 cylinder engine firing up readily & being very very refined in use. It offers easy 60MPH B road motoring & the whole experience is one of extreme quality. The body was of course built by Barker which in itself is a testament to the highest quality. When new the car cas almost exactly the price of the recently launched Jaguar XK120 & offers a feeling of grandeur rather then sportyness when being driven. It makes an ideal car for continental touring given the huge capacity for luggage & very comfortable spacious cabin. Roof up the passengers are well protected & cosseted with also very good wind protection when the fully lined roof is down. In stock now it is ready for immediate use.
