Extremely rare and an absolute work of art! Viewed by many (automotive designers) as the most beautiful autmobile ever created.
This is very DS is a January-1967 Citroen DS21 Pallas. A Citroen DS from the beloved 2nd series in a good condition is a rare thng. This car is one of the most sought after models: A true DS21 Pallas. Why is it so special then? Late '66 to 67 models retain the 2nd Series looks (round headlights) and received the new LHM (Liquide Hydraulique Minéral) hydraulic fluid: A more reliable hydraulic system. This car has the beloved 2,1 Liter DX engine which was introduced in Late '65. A 2175cc 4-cylinder that makes great torque and runs forever. The best engine has been combined with the quintessential DS gearbox: The semi-automatic.   So it has the upgraded engine and hydraulics but combined with the classic looks and interior of the 2nd series (the 3rd series came in 1968). This combination as a Pallas - The luxury spec makes for a very rare and collectable Citroen DS. For the Luxury DS's there were a few very expensive options: this has them all - A Jaeger Tableau, an instrument cluster consisting of 6 beautiful instruments by Jaeger and green-tinted windows - very classy and chique.
This Citroen DS21H was built in late 1966 at the Citroen factory ‘Quai de Javel' in Paris, France and was first registered on the 10th of January 1967. Since 1981 the car was owned by Mr. Henry from La Roche sur Yon, near Nantes. In 1996 it was sold to the Netherlands. The car sat in a dry storage for years next to other French classics. In 2017 it was re-discovered by a DS Specialist from Amsterdam. The car has had 1 dutch owner from 2017 to 2024.
This solid and original DS was stripped completely. It received all restored doors and fenders nicely mounted with great panelgaps. The body is perfectly straight and it was beautifully repainted in glorious Gris Palladium AC108B. It was reassembled with lots of new and NOS parts. New mouldings, new rubbers, new taillights, new blinkers and many new gaskets. The steel wheels have been painted in the correct color and correct Michelin XVS tires were mounted. All stainless-steel trim has been polished to mirror shine. The car makes an as new impression.
The dashboard has been restored beautifully and was painted in the correct white color with grain. The complete interior was reupholstered: Seats, rearseats and doorpanels have been recovered in the correct 'Fauve' Tan leather. The Pallas-specific headrests and armrests weren't forgotten. The carpets were replaced and the headliner is new. It features a new, Retro radio with modern speaker hidden unter the seats and in the rear parcel shelf.
The trunk has been reupholstered in the correct black vinyl. The engine-bay is looking excellent and houses the rebuilt 2,1 Liter DX engine. It was rebuilt in 2022 with a set of new sleeves and pistons, new bearings, camshaft, valves, rebuilt cylinderhead, chain, tensioner and gaskets. Furthermore upgraded with a new 123Ignition (maintainance free distributor), rebuilt carburator, new waterpump, fuelpump, clutch, rebuilt startermotor and alternator. A 2022 €5800 invoice for the engine rebuild is present - just 3000 km's ago. It has new rotors and pads in the front as well as rebuilt calipers and new cylinders in the rear. The exhaust is brand new too. The hydraulic system was restored as well: 4 new hydraulic spheres, rebuilt steering rack, rebuilt pressure pump and hoses and rings. All new, nothing left forgotten.
A beautifully restored series II DS Pallas. The ultimate car to collect and drive thanks to 2nd Series, LHM system, Rebuilt 2,1L, Semi-Automatic.
