Ford Escort Rally Car, year 1968. Colour blue with black striping. Black rally interior fitted with anthracite colour Sparco rally bucket seats with 4-point safety harnesses. This fantastic Ford Escort was sold new and registered in the Netherlands on 22 May 1968. In recent years the car was restored, modified to RS2000 “wide body” specifications, and extensively rally prepared. The final preparations were executed by Classic Job. This magnificent Ford Escort features a highly desirable RS2000 type 2-Litre “Pinto” four-cylinder OHC engine fitted with two “twin choke” Weber carburettors, sports air-filters, a high-capacity radiator, and a free flow sports exhaust system. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The car was rally prepared in every detail, the body and suspension were stiffened, a roll cage was fitted, a strut-bar was added, a limited slip differential installed, and much more. A file folder filled with documents and photos describing the build and preparation in detail is present. The interior features all the instruments and safety gear the driver and the navigator need and can wish for. This is a fully equipped, and very well-built historic rally car.
