On June 5, 1941, Willys-Overland started production of the MA type. A total of 1,553 units were delivered, fifty of which had steering on all four wheels. Most of these vehicles were supplied to the British Army or to the Red Army in the Soviet Union under the terms of the Loan and Lease Act.
Willys MB
After the first order, the advantages of the Ford Pygmy and Bantam GPV prototypes were integrated into the Willys MA jeep. The vehicle received floor acceleration and became slightly lighter. This became the Willys MB. On July 23, 1941, the American army ordered the production of the Willys MB. The vehicles would be delivered at a unit price of $738.74.
In October 1941 it became clear that Willys-Overland could not supply sufficient vehicles. Ford also put the vehicle into production. Here it was given the name GPW, where the W indicated that the vehicle was built under license from Willys. During World War II, approximately 363,000 Willys MB and 280,000 Ford GPWs were produced.
The Willys Jeep that we have for sale is an original Jeep with trailer. The Jeep is also equipped with all kinds of things such as an ax, a shovel and jerry cans. It drives excellently, steers and brakes as it should.
