Hillman was a British car manufacturer founded in 1907. The company originally produced bicycles and was founded by William Hillman in Ryton-on-Dunsmore, near Coventry, England. Although purchased in 1929 by Humber, and subsequently by Rootes in 1931, the Hillman name was used as the main brand by the latter until 1967, when Chrysler in turn took over the entire Rootes group. The brand continued to be used until 1976.
