Opel Automobile GmbH, known simply as Opel, is a German automobile manufacturer, whose headquarters are in Rüsselsheim am Main in Hesse. It was part of the General Motors group from 1929 to 2017, and from 6 March 2017 to 16 January 2021 of the French PSA group, which later merged into Stellantis. In the past it was also a manufacturer of sewing machines, bicycles and motorcycles.
