Salmson, was a company operating in the mechanical sector founded by the French entrepreneur Émile Salmson in 1890.
Initially it concentrated on the production of hydraulic pumps, then, from the very early years of the twentieth century, it also dedicated itself to the construction of radial aeronautical engines, mainly during the First World War. It subsequently became a car manufacturer, active from 1922 to 1957, the production activity for which it is best known.
The brand currently survives in an established company operating in the hydraulic pump sector.
